Inauguration of Conexus Resources’ flagship Aluminium Rod Mill in Bahrain

Conexus Resources Group, headquartered in London, utilises its experience, expertise, processing and logistical capabilities in the metals and agricultural commodities sector to create and manage value chains around the world, responsibly.
Over the past 18 months, Conexus has set-up a state-of-the-art 32,000 metric tonnes per annum rod mill facility that will process liquid aluminium into high quality aluminium rods – operating as Konexus Aluminium International (KAI).
Aluminium rods are a critical component for several industrial purposes including water treatment plants, food processing units, heat exchangers, electrical transmission, and other similar applications.
The mill was inaugurated by The Rt Hon Greg Hands, UK Minister of Trade Policy, in the presence of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB), Tamkeen and Aluminium Bahrain, who have played an instrumental role in the establishment of the Konexus Aluminium International mill.
Dr. Khaled Fahad Alalawi, Assistant Undersecretary for Industrial Development at the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, remarked, “Over the past 18 months, Conexus Resources have made remarkable progress in establishing their rod plant facility, owing to the collaborative efforts of Team Bahrain as well as Alba. This initiative is a giant stride for the local manufacturing sector and is furthered by a larger strategic plan that will see the development of the Kingdom’s aluminium downstream park, further placing Bahrain at the forefront of aluminium manufacturing on regional and global levels.”
Brijender Pal Singh, Chief Executive Officer of Conexus Resources Group, added, “We are pleased to officially go-live with production at our newly constructed and inaugurated state-of-the-art aluminium rod plant in Bahrain. Konexus aims to provide high-quality aluminium rods to global industrial uses. The mill fits our group strategy of developing sustainable commodity value chains which underpin economic and human development – with the mill producing rods which are a critical component electrical transmission and other core infrastructure applications.”
The plant will supply regional and international markets and will create over 50 skilled jobs.
